Smart cards and intelligent
plugs on show at engineering trade fair

A Smart Card for
vehicles, Intelligent Plug, Automatic Filing System and Cutlery Sorter will
be just some of the innovative projects on display at the University of Wollongong
tomorrow when the School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering
hosts its annual Trade Fair.
The Trade Fair
will be held in the University Hall from 3:30pm until 5:30pm tomorrow, Friday
2 November 2001.
It will showcase
the products developed by second and third year students enrolled in Engineering
Design and Management as well as second year Internet Science and Technology
students.
These projects
have been developed around the following themes: The Environmentally Friendly
"Green" Office; The Intelligent Office; Intelligent and Green Transportation;
Wireless Networking and Location Aware Computing; Team Robots; Identification/Sorting
Systems; Embedded Internet Systems and Smart Internet.
During the Trade
Fair, students will provide demonstrations on their projects at work. Everyone
is invited to come along and see the types of projects being developed by students
from the School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering.
