Inaugural Illawarra
Graduate Careers Fair
07-May-2002
The fair is open to
all University of Wollongong students and the wider community. It is the
first time a careers fair has been held for University students targeted
specifically at local organisations. Twenty five organisations will participate.
Where: University
Hall Foyer
Date and time:
Wednesday 8 May, noon -2pm
Official opening/presentation:
1pm -- including a short presentation from the Department of State and
Regional Development about Illawarra regional career opportunities and
trends.
The fair is an initiative
by students of the UOW Golden Key International Honour Society. Golden
Key members are within the top 15 per cent of their degree program. The
society aims to foster greater links between the University of Wollongong,
its students, local business and wider community. The fair aims to redress
the perception from UOW students that the Illawarra region does not offer
or cannot accommodate worthwhile career opportunities via local businesses
and organisations.
An updated list of
participants can be viewed on the UOW Careers Services website: http://www.uow.edu.au/careers/assistance/IllGrad.html
