University to
host Technology Schools Conference

Jazz musician, composer
and producer, James Morrison, will be one of the special guest speakers
at Australia's premier 'hands-on' education and technology conference
to be held at the University of Wollongong from Monday 2 December to Thursday
5 December.
Mr Morrison is an
avid user of the latest technologies involved in furthering the presence
of jazz and music education on the internet. He will attending one of
the evening dinner sessions.
The 14th Annual Innovative
Technology Schools Conference is a collaboration of UOW's Faculty of Education
and Apple Computer Australia.
The conference will
focus on supporting the creative, innovative and collaborative uses of
technology in the learning environment. It is aimed mainly at teachers
and school executive staff wanting to use technology more effectively
in the classroom.
The conference will
involve Show and Tell sessions and other speakers and presenters will
include Californian Teacher of the Year for 2001, Marco Torres; the Director
Educational and Library Technology, Grossmont Union School High District,
California, Don Henderson; and independent educator and consultant, Julia
Atkin. More than 300 delegates are expected to attend the four day-conference.
