East Timor students head for Independence Day

Nineteen East Timorese students studying English at the Wollongong University College will depart for Sydney today to participate in the celebrations for East Timor's independence.

The "All Together Now: East Timor Independence Day Benefit Bash" is being held tonight in the Petersham Town Hall. It has been organised by the Australia-East Timor Association. The celebration in Sydney will include TV news coverage of the events in Dili, celebrity guest speakers and East Timorese bands.

Time: The students can be photographed/filmed at 3.15pm today before their expected departure around 4pm.

Where: The foyer of Building 30 at the University of Wollongong which houses Wollongong University College. Located at the top part of campus behind the McKinnon Bldg.
