Wollongong's postgraduate researchers on display
Oct 10, 2003
The University of Wollongong's postgraduate research strength will be on public display this Thursday (October 9) at the bi-annual Student Research Day. PhD researchers from all nine Faculties will be presenting their projects ranging from developing treatments for prostate cancer, testing children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and risk profiling in superannuation investment to coastal wetlands management. The Student Research Day gives UOW's postgraduate students the opportunity to showcase their world-class research to the University and wider community, including potential employers and the University's industry partners. It also gives potential postgraduate students the opportunity to see the range of opportunities available in postgraduate research. The PhD students have produced posters explaining their research that will be on display, and they will be on hand to explain their projects from 3.30-5pm on Thursday when the showcase is open to the public. The Student Research Day will be held at the University Hall from 3.30pm. UOW's Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Margaret Shiel will give the official welcome at 5pm, followed by oral presentations by four specially selected researchers.
