Public lecture on Islamic education

The Director-General of Islamic Institutions, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Indonesia, Professor A.Qodry Azizy, will visit the University of Wollongong tomorrow (Wednesday 1 September). While at the University he will present the following Centre for Asia Pacific Social Transformation Studies (CAPSTRANS) public lecture on: Islamic Education *Current issues on the development of Islamic thoughts and movement in Indonesia in response to nationalism, democracy and globalisation issues; *Relationship between Islam and the West *Thoughts of Islamic Education Reforms in Indonesia *Reforms in Islamic Law Media please note: Ahead of his 12.30 seminar, Professor Azizy could be filmed/photographed at 11am the Administration Building (Vice-Chancellor's Meeting Room) where he will meet the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gerard Sutton; the Vice-Principal (International), Mr James Langridge; Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Rob Castle.
