UOW students to showcase three years of artwork
Nov 09, 2004
It's been a long and intense three years for 80 graduating University of Wollongong Creative Arts students, and now it's time to celebrate. Years of hard work and creative dedication will be on display this week (Friday 12 November) when the University of Wollongong's School of Art and Design opens a diverse exhibition of visual art and graphic design to the public. The Graduation Exhibition entitled "They Went That Way" is a celebration of works including oil paintings, sculptural pieces, digitally composed prints and multimedia productions from third year Creative Arts students. Exhibition Director and Graphic Design student, Sandra Renwick, said it was a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate three years of creative work and study. "It's certainly going to be an exciting night," she said. "It will be a chance for all the students to sit back, relax and finally enjoy the results of all their hard work." "It promises to be an enjoyable experience for all with musical accompaniment from local musicians and a wide selection of finger food and beverages." A full colour catalogue, sponsored by Print Media and designed by the students, will be on sale during the exhibition. The catalogue will display the talents of each graduating student and will feature reflections from the students on their work and time at UOW. When: "They Went That Way" officially opens at 6.30pm on Friday 12 November and artwork will be on display until Friday 10 December.
