Nothing trivial about BYO Academic
Oct 10, 2005
Students at the University of Wollongong’s International House (IH) are celebrating its 25th Anniversary this Friday night with a BYO Academic dinner and trivia night. To be eligible to attend, students had to recruit a member of the UOW academic staff as their guests for the night. “The idea is to bridge the gap between academics and students, and develop interaction between them,” said trivia night spokesman Hussein Azzan. “We’ve had a really good response, with more than 50 academics accepting invitations.” Peter McLean from the Faculty of Commerce will be the MC, and guests will be treated to a three-course meal and entertainment from a variety of International House students including an Indian dance troupe. Trivia questions will cover subject areas of all nine Faculties at UOW. International House provides accommodation for more than 300 students from Australia and 20 other countries. Media are invited to cover the event. When: Friday, 14 October, 2005 from 6.30pm. Where: International House, Porter St, North Wollongong Contact: Hussein Azzan on 0432 015270.
