Geraldine Doogue speaks at Town & Gown function

ABC media personality Geraldine Doogue will be the guest speaker at the University of Wollongong’s Graduate School of Business and Professional Development annual Town & Gown function on Wednesday evening (2 November). The Graduate School of Business and Professional Development hosts the function each, inviting the Illawarra business community to join UOW academics for an evening of networking and socialising.Ms Doogue’s topic is: Keeping the peace: the ideal role for the media? Ms Doogue is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster with more than 30 years experience, and was awarded two Penguin Awards and a United Nations Media Peace Prize for her role in ABC Television’s coverage of the 1990-91 Gulf War. In 2003 she was recognised with an Officer of the Order of Australia for services to the community and media. Ms Doogue currently hosts ABC Telelvision’s Compass program, and has a weekend radio program on Radio National. The media is invited to cover the Town & Gown function.
