Sold out event for Illawarra’s largest ‘pink ribbon’ breakfast

Oct 25, 2006

More than 240 people will tomorrow morning (Thursday 26 October) attend what has been described by organisers as the Illawarra’s largest ‘pink ribbon’ breakfast.

The ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ Breakfast, being held at the University of Wollongong, is part of an overall campaign to raise breast cancer awareness and help fund research.

It is expected that in Australia more than 13,000 women and 100 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, according to figures from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.

Cancer expert, Professor Don Iverson, will be speaking at the breakfast along with two breast cancer survivors, Dr Ann Ellacott and Ms Lisa Faulkner.

Media please note

Many tables at the breakfast will have a silly pink theme providing good visuals for photo/filming opportunities. Professor Iverson and the breast cancer survivors along with breakfast organiser, Holly Tootell, will be available for interviews.

Time: 7.30am for a 7.45am breakfast, Thursday October 26

Venue: Function Rooms, UniCentre (Bldg 11)

Further information: Contact Holly Tootell on 0438 258068.
