Graduating UOW artists ask: ‘Who is Mark?’
Nov 15, 2006
A dynamic exhibition of works showcasing the Illawarra’s brightest young artists and designers making their mark in the creative world will be opened this week (Friday 17 November) at the University of Wollongong. The annual UOW Graduation Show in Visual Arts and Design, this year titled ‘Who is Mark?’, is run, directed, curated and publicised entirely by the students and will feature an exclusive preview of an eclectic range of material from the future leaders of the creative industry. The vast collection will feature painting, sculpture, textiles, graphic design, photography, new media, motion graphics, animation, web design, advertising, magazines, installations, tattoos, lighting and t-shirts. Each individual’s work represents his or her unique mark and is an initiative to share ideas with the local community and showcase the diversity and talent of UOW’s graduating students. Editor and publisher, Kate Bezar, will open the show and local musicians will provide entertainment. The Creative Arts student graduation show committee have been working toward the event all year, raising in excess of $12,000 through a variety of activities. A full colour catalogue designed by the students will also be on sale during the exhibition.
