Meet UOW’s first Medical students

The University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine (GSM) has completed selection of its first cohort of 80 students, who will start the new Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at UOW’s Wollongong and Shoalhaven Campuses on 29 January, 2007. The GSM has developed an innovative, high-tech model for medical education for the 21st century, and is focused on training doctors committed to working as GPs and specialists in regional, rural and remote Australia. GSM Foundation Dean Professor John Hogg will announce the School’s accreditation and introduce some of its first students at a special media function at the recently-completed GSM Building at UOW’s Wollongong Campus. Where: Graduate School of Medicine (adjacent to the main Administration Building, Wollongong Campus) When: 12 noon. Wednesday, 29 November, 2006. Parking arrangements: Please enter by the Eastern Gate. You will be directed to the Administration Building Carpark, where visitor parking spots have been allocated for the media.
