Student discovers the recipe for a happy Prime Minister
Mar 02, 2007
University of Wollongong chemistry student, William Hudson, has discovered a sure fire way of putting a smile on the face of Prime Minister John Howard. And what is this secret recipe? -- serve up the PM a plate full of macadamia nut pavlova roulade with fresh mango topping. Yes, William has it directly from The Lodge that this is John Howard's favourite recipe and the PM has provided William with the ingredients and cooking instructions for his preferred cuisine. What's cooking is an ambitious plan by William to learn the favourite recipe from all the world's leaders which he has tallied at 163 countries. It's all in the name of charity as William wants to put together a world political leaders' cookbook with proceeds going to disadvantaged children. "I guess there's a certain irony in the fact I am using a cookbook to help children who can't afford to buy food," William said. William has yet to engage a publisher for the cookbook as he first wants to see how much interest he can stir with his idea. He will be drawing on the talents of Creative Arts students at UOW for his book if he can interest enough world leaders to follow the example of the Australian PM. “I can’t see why politicians would not be interested in participating as it’s really a plus for them – they have nothing to lose. “My dream is that the book becomes a best seller and that disadvantaged children worldwide will benefit. If, and when, this project takes off, the charities to benefit will be declared and I will actually link up with a charity/ies to ensure book profits are properly handled", William said.
