A golden victory for UOW at inaugural print awards

It was a gold-winning performance for the University of Wollongong’s Print and Distribution Services at the inaugural awards ceremony for inhouse printeries of Australasia.
UOW’s Print and Distribution Services won the Offset Gold Award at the recent Network of Inhouse Print Professionals Australasia (NIPPA) awards ceremony. The award was based on an arts prize catalogue (the 2006 NSW Indigenous Art Prize) that Print and Distribution Services undertook for an external client.
More than 150 organisations form NIPPA within Australia and New Zealand. The organisation has been in existence for 16 years but this month was the first time NIPPA has held an awards ceremony.
General Manager of Print and Distribution Services, Mr Max Chiodo, said UOW also won a commendation for “NIPPA Best in Category Award”.
“Overall, we had the best success for offset printing of all the inhouse organisations competing in the 2007 awards ceremony,” Mr Chiodo said.
Print and Distribution Services will now compete in the National Print Awards to be held in Melbourne on 16 April 2008. The national awards are open to print organisations of all descriptions and not just inhouse organisations that NIPPA represents.
Photo/filming opportunity: Max Chiodo is available for a photo/filming opportunity tomorrow Wednesday 31 October at 11am at UOW’s Print/Distribution Services Building (opposite the Recreation and Aquatic Centre).
