Economics workshop part of ‘Brain Korea 21 project’

The School of Economics at the University of Wollongong will tomorrow (Tuesday 12 February) host a joint PhD workshop involving students from UOW and the acclaimed highly internationally ranked, Seoul National University (SNU).
SNU is ranked number one university in Korea from the 150-200 band of universities appearing in the Shanghai Jiao Tong Rankings List and 62nd in the world university rankings which appear in The Times Higher Education Supplement List.
The joint workshop is directly supported by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources of the Republic of Korea as part of the ‘Brain Korea 21 Project’ to promote economic research and education for training world-class economic researchers and professionals.
Professor Sara Dolnica who is Associate Dean of Research in UOW’s Faculty of Commerce will present a welcome address to participants from 9am to 9.15am.
Among the presenters will be UOW PhD student Shane Brittle who works at the World Bank in Washington. His presentation is entitled ‘Fiscal policy and private savings in Australia’.
