President of Alzheimer’s Australia to present guest lecture via video link to Shoalhaven

A special guest lecture organised by the Eastern Dementia Training and Study Centre will be video linked to UOW’s Graduate School of Medicine Shoalhaven Campus later this afternoon (18 March).
It will be presented by Associate Professor Marc Budge who is the Head of the Geriatric Medicine Unit, ANU Medical School, Medical Director, Aged Care and Rehabilitation Services, ACT Health, President of Alzheimer’s Australia and Director of the Dementia Collaborative Research Centre number 2 (Early Intervention, Prevention and Risk Reduction).
His primary research interests are the prevention, non-invasive monitoring and management of cognitive and cardio-vascular decline with ageing and disease with a particular interest in multi-modality brain and vascular imaging.
He has been involved in developing community-based prevention and monitoring programs at the interface of IT, aged care and chronic disease. In conjunction with smart house and environmental design, these community infrastructure developments will allow baby-boomers and older adults to “age-in-place” while connecting lifelong learning, health, and well-being.
The lecture will focus on “ANDI (Australian Normative and Dementia Imaging) project: From the Clinician and Consumer Perspective”.
The lecture is being delivered at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane and relayed by video conference to the UOW Graduate School of Medicine, Shoalhaven Campus Lecture Room, Building 28 Auditorium (first floor) from 4.15pm to 5.30pm.
