School students invited to explore Arts, Commerce, Law

High school students interested in studying Arts, Commerce or Law are invited to attend an information evening at the University of Wollongong tonight (June 3).

Parents and teachers are also encouraged the event to attend to hear graduate perspectives and speak to faculty staff and current UOW students.

A highlight of the evening will be talks by successful graduates including QANTAS Retail Marketing Coordinator Christie Wade; Tim Gray, a Financial Planner and Investment Analyst from Net Worth Financial Planners; and Olivia Harris, a solicitor at the Aboriginal Legal Service.

The graduates will speak about their career paths, study experiences and how they forged a thriving career in their chosen area.

The evening will also include information about Early Entry, which will be available in all faculties at UOW for students beginning university in 2009. Students are invited to apply to UOW early and will often find out whether they have gained a place at university before they sit for their HSC exams.

At the end of the night students, parents and teachers will have the chance to mingle with graduates, staff and currents students and have their questions answered.

The Arts, Commerce and Law Information Evening will begin at 6.30pm in the McKinnon Building (Building 67) at UOW. Please be advised that due to the popularity of studies and careers in Arts, Commerce and Law, this event now ‘standing room only’. We apologise for any inconvenience.
