World’s power quality experts Wollongong bound

The 13th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power (ICHQP) – one of the premier conferences of its kind in this field -- will be held at the University of Wollongong from 28 September to 1 October.

The conference is a forum to present research work of academic and technical excellence in the area of power quality from researchers, practitioners and students worldwide. It will feature two tutorials on Sunday 28 September given by international-leading experts.

The theme of the first tutorial will be “Power Quality Measurement, Reporting and Standards” and will be delivered by Professor Math Bollen (Sweden), Mr Robert Koch (South Africa) and Professor Vic Gosbell (Australia).

The theme of the second tutorial will be “Harmonics Modelling and Simulation” and will be delivered by Professor Gary Chang (Taiwan), Professor Paulo Ribeiro (USA) and Professor Wilsun Xu (Canada) who are members of the Task Force on Harmonics Modelling and Simulation.

The conference will be hosted by the University of Wollongong’s Integral Energy Power Quality and Reliability Centre (IEPQRC) which has attracted extensive industry recognition and funding since 1996 and continues to be vigorously involved in power quality research and development activities.

    • Conference welcome cocktail party at the Novotel North Beach on Sunday 28 September

    • Conference social trip to Mount Keira Lookout and Symbio Wildlife Gardens on Monday 29 September

    • Conference dinner on Tuesday 30 September

A two-day course on Mitigation Methods of Power System Quality Problems presented by LK Technical will be held in conjunction with the conference. This course is scheduled for immediately after the conference on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 October.
