Strong Australian university representation at data warehousing conference

22 Sep 2008 | Bernie Goldie

The University of Wollongong will tomorrow (Tuesday 23 September) and Wednesday 24 September play host to about 100 representatives across 30 Australian universities attending the 2008 ‘Higher Education Data Warehousing Conference’.

The conference provides a forum for higher education practitioners to learn the latest technological advances available in delivering decision support and management reporting in today’s international education market.

It will involve two parallel streams with stream one focusing on how information is extracted, transformed and loaded into management information systems while stream two will focus on how information is presented and used by decision makers.

The conference is being sponsored by UOW, Cognos – an IBM company, Cortell Intelligent Business Solutions and SPSS Inc which is a worldwide provider of predictive analytics software and solutions.

Linda Glucina from Cognos will present tomorrow’s keynote presentation (from 10am to 10.30am) entitled “Performance Management in Australian and New Zealand Universities” and on Wednesday Ernest Glad from Cortell will give a keynote presentation on “Resource Planning and Modelling for Higher Education”.

Date and time: Best photo/filming opportunity would be the morning tea break from 10.30am to 11am tomorrow (Tuesday 23 September)

Venue: Kemira Room, UniCentre (Building 11), University of Wollongong
