High school students to attend UOW Business Studies Day

More than 100 high school students will attend the UOW Business Studies Day tomorrow (Tuesday 23 June) to learn about effective examination techniques and employment options in business and commerce during a recession.

Hosted annually by the UOW Faculty of Commerce, this year’s Business Studies Day will feature experts in the field of finance and employment relations and will provide high school students with an insight into tertiary study and career opportunities in the field of business.

“Current high school students will be stepping into a very different economic climate when they graduate,” UOW Dean of Commerce, Professor Shirley Leitch, said.

“Socially innovative commerce marks a new style of business approach and our annual Business Studies Day will keep students abreast of the changing business landscape.”

This year students will hear from Associate Professor Diane Kelly Convener of Employment Relations within the School of History and Politics UOW; Ian Walker, President of the Illawarra Business and Economics Teachers’ Association; and Mohan Dhall, Director of PLC Extension Centre and author of “Lover of Life and the Unexpected”.

Venue: McKinnon Building (Bldg 67) in Room 107
