    • Like Australia, Israel is suffering from a significant water shortage. Last year the water level of the Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee) – the country’s major water source – reached the frightening level of 214.80 metres below sea level.

But the most significant ray of hope for the Israeli water economy is increased recycling of purified sewage water for agricultural use. Israel leads the world in water re-cycling with a rate of 75 per cent – the next is Spain at a rate of 12 per cent.

Possible photo/filming opportunity would be 12.15pm tomorrow in Room 118 of Building 4 when the Federal Education Director and KKL-JNF Emissary for the Jewish National Fund (JNF), Mr Benjy Maor, will be the guest speaker at a joint School of Civil, Mining and Environmental Engineering /Faculty of Law/Faculty of Science seminar.
