Preschoolers to go ‘diving’ in video conference
Corrimal Children’s Centre has organised a teleconference with a marine biologist from the Great Barrier Reef Authority. The initiative culminates a term’s worth of investigation by the preschoolers into the sea and, in particular, the Great Barrier Reef.
Tomorrow (Wednesday 21 October) the children will be involved in a ‘real time’ video conference with a diver who is going on an actual dive ‘with the children’. The children will be able to ask questions as the dive progresses.
As the University has the technology needed to host this video link up, and as a community initiative with the Illawarra Children’s Services, UOW has agreed to help the children with their project.
The preschoolers are greatly looking forward to experiencing this emerging technology.
About 15 children and five adults are expected to participate.
When: 1.30pm Wednesday 21 October
Where: McKinnon Building (Bldg 67) Room 343
