Cecilia Nembou's journey from Papua New Guinea to Dubai

A senior academic and administrator with the University of Papua New Guinea, Dr Cecilia Nembou, has been appointed to the newly-created position of Academic Registrar at the University of Wollongong's campus in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Dr Nembou (pictured) served for 25 years at the University of Papua New Guinea in senior roles as an Acting Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Development), Executive Dean of the School of Natural and Physical Sciences and Head of the Mathematics Department.

Dr Nembou is spending the first three weeks of September at the University of Wollongong undergoing an Orientation Program to learn first-hand the operations of such areas as the Academic Registrar's Department and UniAdvice.
