Technical conference celebrates contributions

The University of Wollongong is hosting the National TechNet Conference 2008 - "Catalysts for Innovation” - this week.

The conference theme is aimed at acknowledging and celebrating the role technical staff play in guiding change.

Over 150 delegates from as far afield as Fiji, Perth and New Zealand are attending the conference, which has a trade show involving 20 companies running alongside the presentations and workshops.

TechNet Australia has promoted these events for over a decade. It is a national organisation of technical professional staff across Australian and New Zealand tertiary institutions. Its members are drawn from a wide range of areas such as Health and Medical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Animal Sciences, Creative Arts and Engineering

TechNet provides an on-line  forum for discussion for technical staff  and holds the national conference to provide networking, development and information sharing opportunities.

The conference continues until Friday.
